Monday the SIAC announced their Week 11 baseball honorees and it was an all Savannah State affair, with SSU outfielder Joseph Smith named Player of the Week, and Tigers hurler Enrico Peel taking Pitcher of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Joe Smith, Savannah State| Outfield | R-Junior | Brunswick, Ga.
Leadoff man Joe Smith led Savannah State in two big wins over Albany State this weekend as the Tigers battled for first place in the SIAC. Smith slashed .667/.750/1.00 over the series with two doubles and a triple—including a walk-off double in game one of the series. Smith leads the team and the SIAC—and is the No. 3 best hitter in Division II—hitting .437 this season.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Enrico Peele, Savannah State| Pitcher | R-Junior | Lehigh Acres, Fla.
In game two of a three-game series with Albany State this weekend, Peele pitched an absolute gem to lead Savannah State to a 12-1 rout of the Golden Rams. After a complete 7.0 innings on the mound, Peele registered one earned run on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts against 30 batters for a 1.00 ERA. Peele improved to 10-2 on the season with the win—he leads the SIAC and is ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II in pitching victories this season.
